Welcome  everyone. I am Pastor Robert McConkey of Gennao Anothen Ekklesia (Born Again Church) Or The Church Of The Way. On Palm Sunday, this message I called The Good And Bad News Of Jesus' Triumphal Entry Into Jerusalem. Before we begin please open your Bibles first Mark 11:1-11. I will be reading from my Interlinear Greek English New Testament, but you can follow along with me using what every translation you are use to.   And when they they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, toward  the mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, and said to them, "Go into the village opposite you. And going into at once, you will find a colt tied, on which no men has sat. Untying it, bring it. And  if anyone says to you, 'Why do you do this?' say, The Lord has has need of it. And he will at once send it here." And they departed and found the colt tied at the door outside, by the crossway, and they untied it And some of those standing there said to them, "What are doing, untying the colt?"  And they said to them, as Jesus commanded. And they let them go.  And they led the colt to Jesus. And they threw their garments on it, and He sat on it. And many were spread their garment on the highway, and other were cutting branches from the tress, and were spreading them on the highway. And those going before and those following after, were crying out, saying, "Hosanna! Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the Highest!" And Jesus entered into Jerusalem and the Temple. And having looked around at all things, the hour already being late, He went out to Bethany with the Twelve.    Now this is the passage, from one of the four Gospels, namely Mark,  that we are used to hearing on Palm Sunday. And upon hearing it, a good Christians would agree, that this sounds like good news, and possibly some of you, that heard me read this, (and were reading along) and would say, "Wow, Pastor Robert!  What a wonderful passage from the Gospel Of Mark, to hear this glorious Palm Sunday!  It definitely is good news!" Then you will possibly, say to yourselves, "Now Pastor Robert is going to give an uplifting and warm sermon on the passage he just read to us."    Well, I would, if was just going, to just use this passage, stop there and only give you good news.  But I am not. Because I need to tell you, about that His entry into Jerusalem was not as good as it could have been. It may have started out that way, but the end result wasn't. I am not it isn't good news for us, it is because on what I call Resurrection Sunday, He conquered sin and death, but it wasn't then, at least not in Jesus' eyes. The response from the crowd that followed was disappointing, and broke His heart.      So before I continue, as the saying goes, "Which do you want to hear first?  The good news or the bad news?" If you answer is the good news, then I must tell you, that it is important to hear the bad news first. I hope that you are ready to hear it, because hear it is. The bad news, at least then, is that His entry into Jerusalem, was not the kind of triumph the crowd was expecting, and they completely understood it.     Now open your Bibles to Luke 19:41-44 "And as He drew near, He wept over it,saying, If you had known, even you, even at least in this day, of yours, the things for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes! For the days will come on you, and your enemies will raise a rampart to you, and will surround you and will keep you on every side, and will tear you down, and your children in you, and will not leave a stone on a stone, because you did not know the time of your vitiation."       Does this now sound to you, like His entry to you was triumphant, according to Him?  Luke, points out in this passage, that He procession when He neared Jerusalem, and wept, When it said that He wept, it wasn't kind of weeping, that He did when Lazarus died. Ray Vander Lan said, and I agree with him, that He cried loudly and well as burst into tears.     Why did He did He did do this? It was because, like I said, the crowd that followed Him, completely misunderstood the purpose of His first coming, and the peace that He had come to bring, as well the salvation that He offered them. They saw Him only as political and revolutionary leader, that would give them deliverance from their Roman enemies that taken over Israel. They wanted political peace, one that was immediate, where He would reign as their king, and bring restoration of Israel in that way--freedom Roman rule.     I will continue with more of this later.
